The Ford Discovery Centre is so much more than just another car museum – it is an attack on the senses. From the scent of leather upholstery to the hustle and bustle of the assembly line, the Centre provides a fascinating journey through Ford Australia’s unique heritage. The Ford Discovery Centre is open six days a week from 10am to 5pm (closed on Tuesdays).

The gallery was established in 1896 and the current building dates back to 1913. The land was donated by the City Council and building was financed by public subscriptions and a government grant. There are works by Louis Buvelot, Tom Roberts, Arthur Streeton, Rupert Bunny, E. Phillips Fox and the Galleries best know painting Frederick McCubbin's 'Bush Burial'.

The carousel has taken years of restoration and is one of only a few left running throughout the world. This carousel dates back to 1892 when Armitage Herschell built these portable steam driven wonders as waterfront attractions all over the world.

The Gardens are open daily from 7:30 to 5pm weekdays, staying open to 7:30 on Weekends where they are a favorite setting for wedding photography and picnics. The gardens house many rare and exotic plants including giant palms which were planted over 140 years ago.
